I'm not really sure what you're asking... but in a word, Yes.

Shift improver kits or in todays transmissions we call them reprogramming kits are very useful. There are more than a few improvements to the factory hydraulics that can be made with a kit in the hands of a professional who understands the balance of certain circuits and can modify them according to the specific application.

What is it that you are trying to accomplish?

If he is like ALL of us, he wants to go make more power, go faster, and make a stock trans live forever.

Haha yeah, I'd like my car to shift quicker, but not eat my transmission. I've heard that b&m kits kill your tranny, so I'm leaning towards a transgo

I'd recommend the modified Transgo kit from Probuilt Automatics. The more throttle the firmer the shifts. I have over 6 years on my kit along with the Yank SS 3600 and I'm still running the 18 year old factory trans.

HEAT KILLS YOUR TRANSMISSION.... if you have a good oil cooler, and quality parts there is no reason why it wouldn't last a while.

Well let's get a little more information...

How many miles are on your transmission?
What is the fluid condition currently?
Has it been serviced that you know of?
What sort of power does your car make?
Any power adders?
What are your future plans for your car?

And most importantly... what exactly is taking place that makes you think it needs to shift quicker?

In order for a Trans-Go HD-2 kit to be properly installed the transmission should be disassembled. There is much, much more to it than simply modifying the valve body. There is a certain balancing act that needs to take place between the hydraulics and the rotating assembly, certain return spring packs will need to be modified and other seemingly minor changes go into making a 60e live long term in a performance environment.

Feel free to give me a call, I don't mind discussing it with you in detail.
