How do you prime your transmission?

I got a used 4l80e and I'm putting it into my firebird. I'm running all new lines and a cooler is there anything I should do before filling the trans besides putting a quart in the converter?

You could fill the cooler up if you wanted to I suppose. I don't think I ever have though. That fluid pumps fast.
