Im asking here because this is were the most talent is found.I did try the search button but need a more definitive answer.

Will a 99 astro awd 4l60e plug and play into a 96 zr2?

looking at car parts.com 96-97 work and 98-99 shows different, what are the differences, just the park switch?

Thanks

Both are LT transmission types, and the electrical plug is the same, but the AWD has a shorter output shaft, and no tail housing. So it will not work.

The output shafts are both the same. If memory serves me correctly the 96 should have a removable bell just like the 99 unit you are looking at and both units should have an external neutral switch on them. So I'm going to say yes it will work if they are both behind the same engine size/type.
