Default Cam on stock converter , tranny problems?

I have a 233/239 112 lsa cam on a stock converter, i bought a used 3600 tci stall and the holes were stripped and i didnt install it. I've been to the track twice on the stock converter and ran twice a 13.0 flat. Car has mailorder tune not dynotune. Now i have a problem that developed after I got back from a vacation. My cars shifts or sort of slower and more fluid rather than sharp and if i do a 0-60 my car , around 60 mph, will jump to redline and just hold it bouncing off the rev limiter. is this an indication of the torque converter being bad, or the transmission? I've been able to drive it fine and changed the trans fluid and filter right after i noticed a problem and saw no shavings in the pan. Has a big permacool trans cooler. Car is a 1998 with 53,808 miles. LS1 with 4l60e

I don't know what you said in bold. And did you pull the transmission to put the 3600 stall in?

If it started all the sudden, or after a trip to the track I would venture to say its a tranny problem. When it gets repaired, put a good converter in the car. A 13.0 with a cam/bolt ons is terrible, it's worse then terrible. It should run minimum mid 11s. BIG difference.

What could cause the redlining? if i floor it at around 20 mph, it will downshift very well and firm and then climb and climb until it slaps on the redline and just doesnt wanna shift. can the converter cause this problem? what exactly are the symptoms of a bad converter?
