Default 4L80E Jake's Manual Controller for $150?

I'm looking for a cheap way to make a 4L80 work in a non computer vehicle.
I saw on Jake's website that they have a harness with 2 wire hook up that will allow you to shift a 4L80 like it had a manual valve body, that is it will start in any gear you want and will shift when you move the shifter, no matter what speed or RPM.
I talked with someone at Jakes and they said it would work for what I want.
Anybody here tried this setup?
Thanks

Into one of my 57 Chevy 4DHTs behind an LS of somesort, trying to find an LY6 but an LQ4 is alot cheaper and easier to find. I'd prefer the LY6 for the large port heads but either one would put out enough power for me
I'm an old timer hotrodder and these computer controlled engines are beyond me so I'm thinking of using a carbed LS. I have several Holleys, electric fuel pumps and even an NOS setup that I could then use, saving me some money.
So with a simple carb setup and a manual shift 4L80E I'd be good to go.
Those 4L80s seem to be super tough and there are plenty of them out there in junkyards.

It works really well. In fact, the reason that Jake uses it, is because it works much better than Transgo's full manual kit (full manual via hydraulics).
