Default Keep 4L60E or goto th400?

So lets be honest... I've heard nothing but horror stories about the 4l60... mine is "built" but who knows how long it will last and im wondering if its worth just selling it while its good and getting a th400 or keeping the 4l... I do some highway driving once in a while, but right now I have 3.42 gear and dont see me going any higher... car is driven only on nice days, and only to go out and play..

Drive your car around in 3rd gear for a few days and see if you like it. I DD my car so I need the 4th gear....

How much power do you make? Cause of it is less than 600-650 then just get a 4l80 with low miles and slap a shift kit and a good converter in it. Pretty cheap and sell you 4l60. You'll pretty much break even.

This times 10x. For about 400-500 more you can have a bulletproof tranny that would still run with the bullet holes if it didn't leak the fluid out. They are tuff!

If you drive your car anywhere for long periods keep the 4l60e. I love my T400 from PerformaBuilt but it sees the track only and car shows. But I also have a huge stall. lol
