Default Ordered the flexplate/spacer kit for a 4L80e, only got the flexplate...?

I ordered GM part number 12621399 from my dealership, and what arrived is only a flexplate. It's supposed to include the spacer and bolt kit that everyone's using. Box was factory glued shut still, and the description on the label just says "flywheel". Has this kit been discontinued or something, and is only a replacement flexplate now? Anyone else order one recently?

That is the part number I have. Last time I ordered it it had the flexplate, spacer and bolts in there, that was just about a month ago. Very interesting, hopefully this is a mistake and they did not change it up on us....

Yeah I actually got that number from you Chris. I will call them up tomorrow and ask them to look into it for me, but I have a feeling it changed. Hopefully the spacer is still available, even if it has to be purchased separately. Does the kit come with a parts list that has individual part numbers on it?

According to the dealership I buy from, it looks like it's no longer a kit. 12621399 is a flexplate only, and has a footnote that the 12563532 spacer should be used. Bummer. At least the spacer and bolts are still available though. Thanks for the part numbers Chris.

This is interesting. I was going to suggest Crate Engine Depot, where I've ordered two of these from recently. But the kit is now gone from their site. Also, the first one I ordered in May cost $57.30, but the next one ordered in August had increased to $64.14. Maybe they were running out.

They do still have the spacer only. But not nearly as good of a deal as the kit was.

I just did a bin check on the two I have in stock.. One has flywheel, spacer & bolts, the other is just the flywheel.. Kinda weird as both came from my GM Ft. Worth warehouse.

Just a heads up... I called GM Partech about part# 12621399 & is still suppose to be a kit.. They have had a couple recent complaints about the spacer & bolts missing.. Their advice is to have the dealer re-order the part & file a mis-package claim.

MTchevy1, go back & have your dealer re-order your part if you're not in a rush.. If you're counterman gives you crap about it, tell him to call GM Partech & they clearly state it's a kit.

I ordered the spacer and bolts separately before you posted this, then called back and ordered another kit after you posted. So, I'll have the complete kit whether I have to buy them separately or not. Hopefully the one I just ordered is complete. Thanks a lot for the onfo, I passed it on to my parts guy and he was happy to help out with ordering the second one.

Very good info, sounds like it was a packaging error. That kit is a great deal, would hate to loose that option....Let us know how it turns out.

Well, I don't know what the deal is. The second order is a flexplate only. Parts guy said he looked it up in the catalog and it's not listed as a kit. I think the kit has been discontinued and is still in the process of being phased out. This is very unfortunate, because the spacer and bolts purchased separately cost as much as the flexplate alone. MM98 would you sell me the kit you have on the shelf?

Alright, I got a definitive answer from Crate Engine Depot. I called and told him I was looking for the flexplate and spacer kit and could no longer find it on their website. He told me that GM no longer makes it as a kit, so they took it off their site. He looked up the individual parts, and the flexplate is $64, spacer is $40, and bolts are $6 each. OUCH! What used to be a $57 kit must now be purhcased separately for over $130. For what it's worth, Crate Engine Depot does stock all the parts still.

Unfortunately that is the word I just got from GM too.. I called them up again after reading your post & it took him about 15 minutes to find a response saying it's no longer a kit & that they are removing the message from GM Partech that was saying it was.. Sorry bud, but after doing that bin check yesterday & finding that we only had one actual kit on the shelf, I snagged it up for my TH350 swap that I'm working on.

Is this for sure the correct BOLT part number (#19257940) for the flexplate to crank?

I purchased what I thought was the correct part number (#11569956) from another thread today and I'm afraid they may be regular length. Can anyone tell me what the length should be. These dont appear to have enough thread with the spacer.

Thanks!

Circle-D, you sir are the man! Thank you. Couldn't be any clearer. I'll exchange my bolts today. I didn't have the regular bolt to compare them to.

THANKS!

Wow! FYI those longer bolts cost 3 times as much at $6 compared to bout $2 for the shorter.
