HELP..4l60e having major problems. Hey guys I am having some major problems with my trans. Its in a 98 WS6 4l60e A4. I drove it to work this morning and the car shifted fine the entire way. I went on my lunch break and put the car into reverse and the car rolled forward with power as if I put it in drive. I shifted it into neutral and the car did the exact same as reverse. I then put it in park and the car lurched forward into the parking pins which stopped it, but it had forward power like reverse and neutral. I turned the car off and pushed it back then started it. I drove it around the block and it shifted fine. Heres the kicker tho.. Over 20MPH the car will go into neutral and act like its in neutral with no power to the rear wheels. I drove the car home and it still has power in park, reverse and neutral. The car can also be shifted manually 1-3 gear with no problems. Drive works and shifts fine. The only difference is reverse acts like it has a trans brake. Please help me out here guys. How bad is it?

Well that's a significant indicator. The fluid will not always be raosted and toasted when a 3/4 clutch fails. Especially if the unit has been serviced a time or two in it's life.
The symptoms you described really do speak to the fact that the 3/4 clutches have failed just like others have mentioned here. If you'd like to discuss some options feel free to give me a call. I don't mind taking the time to help take some of the mystery out of determining what direction you should go for now and in the future.
