Post manual shifting automatic transmission

should i shift my car manually through each gear when racing or just let the computer do the work cause it seems when i manually shift my car through each gear its slower.

It's called human error...
When you can let a computer do it, and when you can verify its accuracy, you can fine tune it to be faster than any human will ever do.

It actually is slower. The reason is because you are inconsistent. The pcm is not inconsistent. Meaning, you are not capable of shifting it as well nor as efficiently as the pcm.

All my Pro Mod clients, all my back half clients, all my drag radial and grudge racers use a computer controlled shift solenoid on their race cars. That should tell you something right? If you get the chance to be a race track take a look at some of the faster cars up close. They will have an electric solenoid mounted to the shifter or maybe it's a C02 operated air assisted shift ram assembly. They use those for a reason, and that is dead nuts consistency.
