Default strange sound

I originally posted this in the gears/rear end section but was thinking i might get more info here...I just started having a sort of clunk/grind sound coming from the back of the car when I shift from park to reverse/drive. If I shift and wait a few seconds before moving everything is fine. There are no whining noises and the trans is shifting fine when Im driving. Any ideas????

Is it a clunk or a grind? Is it when you are moving?

i'd put my money on the torqque arm mount when you are fully stopped the transition of toque is smooth when you shift but if you arent completely stopped it puts more stress on the torque arm and with a bad mount will cause it to move inside its mount and clunk...

Ya my u joints are tight I just replaced the one that goes into the rear. I also just put a new trans mount in at the same time. The sound is more of a grind. When I put it into gear ill hear it for a few seconds and it goes away. It feels like the tranny is shifting fine tho.

No I havent gone in-depth. Its coming from either the back of the trans or rear. Im going to put it on jackstands later and look. I just put non adj lower control arms could that effect anything because it started happening after those were installed

If that is the case then you might have something that just got loose. I re-did my bushings and had to go back and tighten **** back up. Maybe it is that simple. Good luck.
