Default blown pump

I pulled the trans and I took it to a local shop.... I killed the pump.... This is the second time I did this.... 1st time I didnt seat the tc in trans all the way this time I had pump set in trans by the trans shop... He told me it should spin freely and not binded up while installing trans... I would tightend bolt a lil bit the check the tc did this till the trans was completely flush on the motor then I lined the flywheel (flexplate) with the converter I start all 3 bolts on the 1st pass then on the next I torqued them down fully....I could hear the tc sliding in... I am using this flywheel .... I am using the stock bolts do you think I can shim this or should I shim it....

With the converter pushed fully back into the pump measure the clearance between the converter bolt pad and the flexplate bolt surface, It needs to be between 1/8 and 3/16th inch if its more that likley your issue and you need to shim but do not go less than 1/8th.

No matter what combination of flexplate and converter, you should always check converter clearance. Especially on a 4L60, they are very sensitive. .125 is ideal...
