Default AOD to LY6?

Hi,

I am looking at overdrive transmissions for my 68 Chevy II Nova project. It has 4.10 out back, I'd like to go wit about a 3500RPM stall also.

4l60E is out as I want more reliability.

4l80E full manual is a posibility but I am worried about trans tunnel fitment in the Nova, I also don't like how much extra power it uses.

Lentech is really close to me and they make a really strong product and take care of the local racers really well so I am tempted to go this way.

Pros
-.67 overdrive gear for the aod over .75
-no shipping
-less power loss I believe
-smaller and lighter then the 4l80s
-Overdrive is locked out till you flip a switch so not breakage unless I'm stupid
-Great warrentee
-Local to me so if any problems arise they are right here to help me.

Cons
-Its a ford tranz ;(
-Have to go with aftermarket SFI bell housing. about $700 to the price
-Throttle cable linkage for cable to control trans pressure
-What flexplate for torque converter?
-What tranz spacer?

Has anyone put an AOD behind a LSx engine? Details would be great!

Thanks,
Bruce

By the time you buy all the parts to make the AOD fit you could have built a 60e that would work IMOP. The 60e can be programmed to do what ever you want.
