I just sold the 350-700r combo from my wagon an purchased an 07 4.8-4l60e combo and unhooked the rod from the 700 and sold them. The stock linkage isnt even close to working properly or fitting. What options do i have? Thanks

Kind of confused on what kind of vehicle this is. Install the short linkage rod and get the correct linkage arm for your vehicle.

It is an 82 malibu wagon. The short rod is on the 4l60 but the stock linkage coming from the column doesn't work at all unless I let go something I needed that was sold on the 700r.I just pulled the pin and unhooked it from the 700 when I took it out

That makes more sense now. I see a couple of issues here. First being that the linkage shaft is way to long coming out of the trans and needs to be swapped with the short linkage. The other being that your trans bell housing is a little deeper than what you had before. I'm guessing what you had before was like a horse shoe linkage bolted to the linkage shaft. I know there were some that came off of the linkage shaft that would extend towards the firewall and then have the same style horseshoe type mount on the linkage. In any event your going to have to find this or fabricate something up here. You might want to search using google to find places that have components for linkages for conversions. HTH Vince

OK i figured it out.I had to get the dual end bracket off a similar trans and then adjust the rod to get all of the gears. Thanks
