I've got 2 friends with SS4000s. One absolutely hates it. One is a bracket racer and he even thinks it's a little too big, but he did go 11.16 with a h/c and about 250 lbs off of the car. I'd say go with the 3600. It's the best of both worlds.

Drove my friend's bolt-on car with an SS4000 around for a while, loved it. Hell, I'd daily it with that 4000, especially how it ran cam only. However, if it were mine and wasn't a daily, I'd definitely be going bigger, like 4400.

I have the ss4000 in my car and its my daily. I put about 350-400 miles on my car a week. And until recently I had the stock 3.23's, I have 3.73's now and it is tighter. It does take some getting used to, but I will never go back to a smaller converter.

Just make sure you get a transmission cooler no matter which one you decide.
