Default 4L60E Compatibility Question

I have a 5.3L motor from a 2004 GMC truck. I'm looking for a mating automatic transmission. From the research I've done, it looks like any 4l60e from 1998 and up should bolt up.

Can anyone confirm this for me? I just want to make sure I don't need to be looking for something special and that anything 98 and up will simply plug and play.

Thank you.

Yes that should be fine you will have to change out the tail housing and the shifter linkage.

I have an 02 6.0 and a 99 60E from a v6 and I read somewhere the flexplate will have to be changed. Other than that it will bolt up except for the one bolt at the top.
