4L60 Check ball on input shaft
Can that check ball be removed without consequence? Not a builder obviously but, heard of others removing the ball for more of a firmer converter lock-up on other types of GM overdrives. Or am I totally off base on this? Any benefit other than firm lock-up?

It will make the lockup more like a gear shift. I "do not" recommend taking it out, as the 1995 and up capsules are a "dual feed" setup as compared to the "single feed" of the 1994 & earlier units. The dual feed is fine, and it you want it a little frimer, drill the feed hole in the separator plate to .093" as recommended by TransGo. Use the Isolator valve from TransGo as this will make the lockup an on/off setup. These two recommendations will help torque converter clutch life more than anything, without the torque converter lockup becoming annoying.

DO NOT DO IT.
if you do not have a harden pump drive on your high stall converter it can split the converter neck area, smash the pump gears
have seen this before along time ago ,your choise!!.
