I would recommend a tune from a pro tuner quick so you can evaluate the cars performance with the converter ASAP.
I have a 2000 TransAm LQ9 stock long block and it is a tire frying machine from a dead stop to about 35 miles an hour it lay rubber. But I lost 5 mile an hour and 4-5 tenth in the quarter mile with the RevMax converter compared to the stock set up. ( motor and coverter ) I think we were suckered into buying a cheap built converter. Mine also doesn't pull good a higher rpm. When it's loaded it does ok but suck at say 4500 rpm up.
I'm buying a vigilanty with the parts to rebuild my trans now

Looks like you have some issues to address for sure! You need to first retune the vehicle to match your new converter. The difference between a tuned car and non tuned are night and day, HUGE!!
Secondly, you stated that 1st gear rips hard and then when you hit second it feels like it is losing power? How does 3rd gear feel from start to finish?
@squirrelnutz
There is something else going on in your setup that caused you to lose 5 mph and .5 tenths... I guarantee that the converter IS NOT causing this issue!! The only other question I have was this built for an N/A car or NOS car? If it is a NOS car are you spraying or running it N/A. If you run a NOS converter N/A it will definately be anything other than optimal!! The same would hold true vice versa... Finally, what are your TCC parameters set at? I would be more than happy to replace the unit at no charge with a new one, upgrade you, or get you a restall!!

@ both
Give us a call if you would we would be more than happy to troubleshoot these issues you are having, we sell hundreds of these units a year and have not had any customers with similar issues. We want to get this figured out for you, regardless if it is on our end or your end!!
A 3500 converter with a 6000 rpm powerband (where's your limiter set at?) can be sluggish especially with street tires your taking out the torque "feel" with the higher stall and replacing it with tire frying capability. If you ran slower at the track most likely it was due to wheelspin.
