Default Slips when warm (4l60e)

Starts to slip in about 5 minutes of driving, then it feels like if it locks up and unlocks around 45mph, after that all gears start slipping, the longer i drive it the more it slips.

After letting it cool down everything works fine??

Do i need a rebuilt or could it be my converter?

Have you tried changing your fluid? Do you have the correct fluid? If the fluid is thinning out as it gets hotter, that may be the problem - my dad has this happening in his Lincoln LS because the factory supposedly put the wrong type of trans fluid in the cars. There's a TSB for it. Maybe something similar is going on with you.

There is a filter on the 60e. Honestly, I hate to say this but I bet when you drain the fluid you'll see a bunch of clutch material. The fluid is relatively cheap to change out so you can try it but most likely you need a rebuild. How many miles on the trans?

Unfortunately if it is slipping then it will have some internal damage. Call me and I'll walk you through a few steps and help you understand what's going on.
