Default Newbie converter questions

Hello all,new the the LSx world and OD lock up style transmissions.I am in need of a little education.I am putting an LQ4 in a old Nova with a 4l65e,so no smog concerns.Considering a Texas Speed 224r @114LSA or a Torquer V2 with 112? -114 LSA.Planning on running a Fast LSXRT intake and a 102 tb with long tube headers ans a tune.Would like to keep it driver friendly and decent fuel mileage( currently has a 500hp 400sbc with a 8 inch converter) so anything will be an improvement.Looking at converters there are so many choicesWith iether of these cams do I need to upgrade from a stock converter?I have not even found a spec on a stocker as of yet.3400 lb car with 3.89 gears currently. My 8 inch converter drives pretty well on the street under light load but I do not know what to expect from the newer style trans with a lock up converter, which leads me to another question. Are all converters listed for the 4l60-65e lock up style be default or are there none lock up converters available?Sorry for the lame questions, been poking around and more confused now than before

Since you are in Nor Cal I would check with Continental Converters in LA. They have a great reputation here in So Cal.

As far as I know they all lock up. I went with a yank ss3600. Very street friendly but knocked about .6 off 1/4 mile and 2mph gain. It locks up at 38mph.
