Default Automatic swap... should I do it?

I'm not sure if this is the right place for this so sorry ahead of time. I just bought a 2000 SS m6 car. Well the tranny in it now grinds going into 4th so its going to need a rebuild which most know is 1k plus not to mention the clutches, flywheels, aftermarket hydraulics if you want it to work properly. Well I've all ready got a LT1 car for parts so I'll have the crossmember, linkages, everything other than a top console, cooler, harness and transmission. What do you guys think about doing an auto swap. Its not that I can't drive a manual or don't like them its just that I don't own a automatic lol. 4 M6 Fbodys, an 86 T/A, cobalt ss. Honeslty I just want something automatic. The car will never see more than exhaust and a gear since its going to be my DD. What do you think? Also what could I get a good used harness and tranny for and where will flash a m6 computer for an auto? Thanks and sorry if this should have been elsewhere.
