Default 02 ws6 trans fluid change?

i have a 02 ws6 with roughly 112k on it, i have no service history for the car, runs great, and seems like it was very well taken care of, but i cant be sure. my question is this: Should i change the fluid and filter or not. i have heard with this many miles on the car that the metal flakes in the fluid could be what is keeping it alive... please help!

thanks in advance,
Bruce

Not the metal flakes per se but people do say "it's the gunk that's keeping it together." If the fluid is clean to slightly brown, I would change it. Just a pan drop and filter replacement, not a flush. If it's really dark, I'd leave it alone.

My wife's old Montana last had it's fluid changed at about 100k. It's at 156k now and I just checked it. Black. It's shifting fine and it won't be changed.

I would change the fluid and filter without question. Its the flush machine that I would stay away from though.
