Position of trans temp unit ?

Where is the best position of the temp sending unit on the 4l60e transmission pan ?

I have the Auto Meter Trans Temp Gauge.

Pics please.

I know there's a spot above the shifter linkage that most use for a temp gauge. That's where I'll put mine when I get one.

Be wary of using this as it dont get a correct reading. It's about 20 degrees off, probably wouldn't have just had to get a new trans if I would have stuck it in the pan.

Ok, thats not good, maybe i should mount it in the pan, any suggestions about position ?
