Yea Mark and if your geting the gauge we talked about like I have you can feel good about temps because your fluid will most likely be cooler. Thats how I look at it anyway.
Also FWIW...
Remember when we had the hotest day in CT history last summer at 103f IIRC? Well I went for a ride for an hour. My temps only got to 190-200f and this was after beating on it a little. I only run this fin and tube.https://ls1tech.com/forums/14646393-post42.html

The plate style is more efficient from what I gather. Suposedly the fin and tube create less pressure though. I really cant tell you which one runs cooler.
I ran a b&m dope style BEFORE the stall and it wasnt much different than this cooler on my radiator. This one may actually be better. Might be where it is mounted or whatever. Theres to many variables to know.

I run the largest B&M cooler mounted infront of the radiator/ac. I run it strait to the transmisson bypassing the stock cooler. The hottest I have gotten in FL is 155* its daily driven. I have a digital autometer gauge connected to the port above the linkage. If I can run it like this in FL when its 90 plus outside in stop and go traffic on a
