How much power are you making and what are your goals for your car?

If you're speaking of the Monster Transmissions from Florida... then

I wouldn't trust it to hold up to any more power than a stock system holds up to when tuned properly. Been there, done that... what a waste of money.

As far as converters... I think the TCI will work okay for a stock engine setup. Start adding a little power, and you'll want to look into a much better converter from Circle D, Yank, FTI, Precision Industries, etc etc. All 4 of those (and there are others) are proven winners on this site. TCI's are known to have weak lockup clutches, so beware. There is a member on the site having good luck with a TCI, but he has it tuned right on the money.

To me, Monster + TCI = 1 Risky Combination.

Whatever the case, if that's the route you take, or have already taken... good luck. Hopefully it works out for you.

With the power potential of a 383 or 408ci engine I would highly recommend going with a proven transmission and converter combo. Do a search for previous customer experiences with Monster and TCI here on LS1tech.

Our Level 5 4L60e build would be more than capable of handling your power goals. Check us out and take a look at our facebook page and youtube channel and you will see some of our transmissions in action. If you have any questions at all please feel free to let me know.
