4l80e chevelle help.. 99' ecm 6.0/4l80e
i have a 2004 tranny in there now.. question is will the 99' ecm control the 2004 transmission . 4l80e.. it is already installed. has reverse,park and nutral.. put it in drive is stays in second ,no matter what gear i put it in..or how fast im going ..dead stop ..doesnt matter.stays in second.. if 99 ecm doesnt control it what will i have to do. will 99' valve body fix this ? help !! thanks//

Going from a 4L80e to a 4L80e the 99' Value body should work..

A couple of things I'll add.
A 2004-up uses a different EPC solenoid and internall harness.
I would go back to the black solenoid and a 93-03 harness for the 99 PCM.
The valve body itself will be fine.
Your "no shifting" issue is likely no power on Pin E of the main connector going to the trans. Check this for 12V Ign power (key on). I'll bet you don't have power.

It was in deed no 12v power .. i did a swap in chevelle. . wire went inside cab area.. it wasnt hooked up.. hooked it up to a 12v key source .bamo ! runs perfectly now.. 2004trans does work with 99' ecm. thanks.
