4L60E Removing Tailshaft

4L60E Removing Tailshaft
I have a 2000 TA, A4.
I'm getting ready to install a UMI torque arm relocation/automatic transmission brace. From what I've read on other threads it is necessary to remove the transmission tailshaft in order to remove the factory torque arm brackets, so I guess I should expect to lose some fluid. How much do you guys think I'll need to refill?
Does anyone have the tailshaft torque specs by chance?
Any other advice would be appreciated. TIA.

Buy a $7 hand pump from Harbor Freight or most auto stores:

Stick it down the dipstick tube and pump out as much fluid as will come out - generally 3-4 quarts. You shouldn't lose much (if any) out the tailshaft then. The pump is cheaper than 3 quarts of ATF.
I don't know the official torque spec for the tailshaft, but the same bolts are used for the bellhousing to engine and the torque spec on those is 35 ft/lbs.
