Default 1984 lockup TH350

I'm building a dirt streetstock car...350, 10.8, .500 lift solid cam, 500 2bbl
I'm running 4.56 rear gears and with the TH350 in second (1.52) the final
drive will be 6.93. At a 1/3 mile track we usually come off the turns at about
6000 rpms and will tack to 68-7000 ish.
My question is can anyone see a benefit, no matter how slight, to running a
lockup converter type set-up??? I can get a TH350 trans with less than 20
thousand miles on it, Fairbanks shift kit, and a TCI 2200-2500 converter to
use for free which would fit my ultra cheap budget. It belonged to my pops
and he thinks we could just use a toggle switch to lock the converter.
I see rear wheel dyno results all the time where someone chimes in to ask if
the graph was locked or not. I have no clue as to if or how much power a
dyno changes because of this. Even if it's only 3-5 more to the tires I may
just go ahead and try it since these engines make such little power because
of the cast iron intake/exhaust manifolds. If between this and a 2 into one
exhaust system I can find even 10-12 more ponies this represents a decent
percentile of a combo which may only make 260-275 rwhp.
Thanks for input either way..............................JIM
FWIW.....the car will be a Synergy Green 69 chevelle w/flat black #s & wheels
