Default 6L80E Shallow Pan Question

Does anyone know if the new 2010+ Camaro fluid pan is shallower than the truck pan in the 6L80E transmission? I have a transmission out of a truck and I am looking for a shallower pan. Not sure I want to use the Pontiac G8 pan.

I believe there was a post a year or more back on this subject. Can't remember if it was in Hybrid or Trans forum. Think all the pans including the Caddy pans were looked at.

Any reason you don't think you want to use the G8 pan? Looks like it's about as shallow as can be obtain with space for filter and without loosing anymore needed fluid. It also helps if you can't fit dip stick tube by providing way to check fluid and fill. Went with it on my 66 C2 with truck 6L80E.

I had thought I had read somewhere about problems with the G8 pan not providing enough fluid under hard acceleration or cornering. I would love to be wrong. That is why I was think of the Camaro or maybe the Corvette pan for the 6L80E.

The camaro pan is deeper than the G8 and is billed to prevent starvation over it holds almost a 1qt more fluid and is still pretty short. Camaro pan P/n 24250062 its Like $65 bucks or so, with gasket/filter online.

You could baffle it as well to help with fluid control.

Thanks for the info and part number. So it appears the Camaro pan is between the G8 pan and the truck pan depth wise. Maybe I will go the Camaro pan route then.

Can you post a pic and measurement of the Camaro pan. I'm putting a 6L80 in my 40 Olds project. The truck pan is way too deep.. Was going to order a G8 pan, but maybe I should run the Camaro..

Thanks
Allen
