Can anyone tell me if a 700R4 converter will fit a 200 4R?I was told by a number of people it would fit.I just did the swap and the trans is making a bad noice like something hitting the converter or flexplate. The converter went in fine with about 3/8" between the converter and flexplate before I bolted it up.It only ran for about 5 seconds.Do you think I did some damage?
Thanks

The torque converter will go in fine, but the 27 (apx. .890" diameter) spline input shaft will just move around in the 30 (apx. .990" diameter) spline torque converter. The transmission will fill up with fluid as the pump is working fine, but the vehicle will not move because of the spline differentiation. All 2004R's were 27 spline. The 1982 to mid 1984 700R4's were 27 spline. From mid 1984 on, all were 30 spline.
