Default trans issues after shift kit and 3600 stall converter install

As the title says, now the car has to be at about 4500 rpm in order to shift 1st-2nd
2nd-3rd shifts rapid and it also jumps from 3rd-2nd 2nd-3rd while crusing, and feels like its takeing off in 2nd. As expected the mechanic says its not from his end blames the old transmission which only has 44k miles on its. any recommendations where to look.

It sounds like there was a foul up on the installation of the shift kit,,Not sure how he could blame a trans that was working fine till he touched it if thats the case..

Was any tuning done to the trans to accommodate the converter and shift kit?

This isn't one of those I worked on your vehicle, now the battery died while I was working on it, so I am responsible for the battery dying. If the transmission was working correctly when it came in to me and now its not.... Guess who is responsible. If the transmission was not working right, he might have a case. Has he done this type of installation before??? Call TransGo and see if they can help you out here. 626 443-7451. Talk to Dave if possible.

got the guy to work on the car again, but same results he is saying the 1st gear band is bad and it need to be changed. the truth is am kind of giving up on this build. The car was in perfect working order transmission shifting perfect(only 44k miles) before he worked on it. All that was done is changed the TC to a Yank 3600 and intalled a trans-go shift kit and now i have a car that shifts 1st gear at 4500 rpm or at speeds of 30 mph, and shift from 3-2 and 2-3 at cruzing speeds

There is no "first gear band" so this guy is either blowing smoke or you misunderstood him. The right question was asked above as to whether he is familiar with this type of installation. An installer not only has to know the 4l60e trans, but understand the dynamics of the Transgo kit, your setup, and intended usage to guide the specifics of the installation.

Im curious about the stall if going from a stock converter to a 3600 stall with no tuning that could be a large part of the issues

What tuning needs done with a 3600 converter? I always see it come up but the misfire tables are the only thing I feel are a must and that's not even always the case.

Right. That and a couple of others. With my 3000 it didn't require tuning for problem issues; with the 3600 I ran into issues ... going into limp mode. Of course, this discussion is beside the point now that the OP has diagnosed his problem.
