Default Tune Or No

Hey i'm buying a 3200 stall converter from FTI, for a 4l60e tranny, will i need a tune for the new converter or not? I have a shiftkit in the tranny now and i'm not having any issues at all, transmision is shifting fine and not throwing any codes, will i have any problems after i install the new converter???

probably. you should get SES light for random misfire and the convertor wont lock up.

I just looked at the title without opening the thread and I instantly said yes in my head.

Yes, get a tune. It will help shift extension, lockup, and keep the engine from hitting the limiter.

That is a small converter, so you "might" be okay.
I ran a 3000 2.0 stall converter for over a year w/o a tune, and the only issue I had was a lazy lockup on the freeway.
By this, I mean that most of the time I would have to drive a good mile at 55 plus mph before the converter would finally lock up.
Everything else was fine.
I would drive it for a while and see what you think.
If you are planning other performance mods in the near future, and your car drives okay you could wait for a tune.

Get a tune to take full advantage.
