Default 4L80E and Yank issue

First I would like to say that Yank has been great with my issue and my trans builder also has been great.

I have a 408 with a F1A procharger making 700 rwhp. I had to rebuild my trans and send the converter back after less then 200 miles and now after 500 more it is doing the same thing!

I drove the car 75 miles and everything was fine. Pulled it into the shop and parked it for 2 weeks. I went for a ride today and when I steped on the gas it feels like it is blowing thru the converter. Also I have to get to 2000 to 2500 RMP's before the car will move forward. Same thing it did last time but when I sent the converter back they found nothing wrong and the trans guy said everything was fine. However something was wrong because I found alot of stuff in my trans pan. I have not drained the pan but the fluid smells burnt! Any suggestions?

I also have a TCI EZ TCU. Not sure if that could be burning things up?

Check that you are going into low gear, it sounds like the transmission starting off in second.

Trans runs at 150 and the cooler is a B&M that has a fan on it.

Not starting in second. Shifts good at low speed only slips when i apply the power.

Got it all torn down! Looks like it broke the intermidiate sprag and took out all the other stuff in the trans.

Good news is my motor is making real power, bad news is i need a new trans!

Huh, I would assume your builder would have used a 34 element sprag, which should hold up to your power level. Anything else wrong?
