Default Help- NSS switch install

I removed the old NSS switch off my 2007 4l60e trans, it came with the later 1 connector switch. My harness is setup for the two connector switch. So I've purchase a new one to install. I found some steps to install and was curious if that tool part# "J 41364-A" is absolutely necessary for install?

Bump!!

Got some free time to get back to work on the project. If anyone can help me out here so I could get the trans in the car, appreciate it.

I don't understand your question, the switch is completely independant of the transmission used. Just use whatever switch the harness wants, they both bolt up the same

-I purchased a 4l60e trans from an 2007 Silverado

-The trans came with the later style NSS switch (one connector)
http://www.electricaladvantage.net/4...atedesign.aspx

-My harness is setup for use with this NSS switch for two connectors, so I purchased one of these new.

-I now need to install this new NSS switch onto the 2007 trans, I've already removed the other one that used 1 connector.

-Ive seen some basic written steps to install an NSS switch and it mentions using this "J 41364-A" tool.

-So my question is, do I absolutely need this "J 41364-A" tool for proper installation. And also if there is any other little tips for proper installation so I do it once and not have to redo it all over.

The NSS just bolts over the shift bolt. It's the simplest part in the world.
