I have a 02 F body Z28. Bone stock except for a borla cat back system. I have a auto trans. It feels like it is dragging when it goes into second. Also sometimes when slowly taking off from a start it doesn't immediatly engage or moves but still feels like it is dragging and then shifts and is fine. I know these trannys have a reputation. It has brand new fluid in it. Any ideas?

First Iwould check to see that first is being commanded sounds like you are starting in second
