3800 Stall to much for a bolt on ls1?

I just put my new Frost tune in today and driveability is great with my 9" FTI 3600 w/lockup.

Before the new tune she shifted soft and had a vibration/shudder at 40mph.

This is the way it should have come from the factory.

I think that the 3800 would be perfect!! I have experience with a big stall also. I went from a vigilante 3200 to a circle D 5C 4000-4200 and it drove the same. And my car was a daily driver, fun street car that never sees the track.

I have an SS3200 with a comp 228/232 cam, and I don't wish i went bigger. I do alot of rush hour traffic driving though.

i have an FTI 3800 in my car. daily driven, on the loose side too. After a week I cant remember what a stock stall feels like. gets good mileage, hauls ***, ***** rubber. and i drive a minimum of 30 miles a day just to work and back.

i didnt even need a retune, although ill get one just to make sure im getting the most out of the car.

Thanks for all the great info guys. I think im just going to save up some more cash for now, and get the stall later down the road when i can afford to get the right one. I've thought it over, and i dont really feel like rushing into this build, and trying to do everything on a very tight budget. So i'll just wait it out. Thanks again guys!

i thought my car drove fine without a tune aswell but trust me you want a tune! i did my own tuning with hp tuners and it made a night and day difference with how the car drives overall.

Yeah you may not be required to get a tune, but one would greatly improve how your car drives. No way the stock or even modified part throttle shift/lockup tables are optimized for such a high stall.

With the right tuning of those two tables, the car even with a high stall can drive very close to stock, but also be much more peppy vs. the lag or looseness a high stall might bring.
