the debate begins again(many threads on this subject).
the stock stall is 1800.
minimum 3000,recommended 3600-4000. a good stall from CircleD or Yank(don't mean to leave others out as the others are excellent too).
don't go 'off the shelf',get a 'custom'

I had a CircleD 3200 and hated it. Went down to a Vigilante 2500 which I love - but that's my preference.... it's my DD.

I had a race shop put it in - who recommended it. Like I said, that's my personal preference. Most that opt for something higher like higher revs around town and of course the benefits at the track. Mine still has a very good launch with seemingly no dead spots when getting on it.
I didn't like the fact that I had to bury my foot into the accelerator to drive around town with the 3200. I know there are other parameters with a torque converter that probably came into play with my dislike of it .... how loose it was .... etc.

I think the best thing a person could do is sample different converters .... but probably not practical.

Sounds like something was not setup right...my fti 3800 drives great. Only takes another 3-500rpm to get the same pull at part throttle. Far from having to bury my foot in the throttle to get the car moving. 2k rpm the car accelerates enough to keep up with traffic, 3k pulls away from traffic. Stall speed does not dictate how loose the converter is...str is what you need to be looking at. 2.1 str is a solid street/strip ratio. 2.5+ is more for the track.

yes, my 3600 is very responsive and it feels stock. 0 looseness. you can get an aggressive converter on these cars and not lose much drive ability.
