Default 4L60E slips in all gears.

I have a performabuilt level II paired with a yank ss3500. Starting a month or so ago when the converter would lock up it would surge about 3 or 400 RPM's when i hit the gas. After about 5 minutes of driving today it got much worse. Almost as if the converter was locking and unlocking but I believe it was just slipping. Now the converter will not lock up at all and it feels like the transmission is slipping in every gear. I can feel the transmission shift gears fine. The RPM's just stay up. First thing is first. I think I'm doing a fluid and filter change tomorrow. After that I'm not sure what to do. Does it sound like a converter issue or a transmission issue? Im hoping its the verter but a rebuild from performabuilt isnt much more. Opinions?

how many miles are on the tranns and how mnay mile son the converter?

Probably 10K on trans and 60K on verter.

Bro please I know this is a long shot, but my trans just started doing the EXACT SAME THING. I really need help with diag. What was the issue? I have a summit 2800 stall in mine. Trans is built with pretty much ALL the goodies. Barely made it home today. The past couple months it's been surging when the converter would lock up at 170+ degrees. Then last week it started shuttering in 3rd/4th. Then tonight it started surging BAD and temps went up to 210 degrees. And then the converter wouldn't lock up even tho my cts3 said it was locked. And THEN it would barely pull in all gears. Fluid was slightly overfilled on the stick but I'm guessing the heat did that

Sounds like a converter clutch failure. Pull pan you will likely find lots of pepper flakes. The bad part is a failure of this type requires at the very least a full tear down and clean up and if its been slipping to (Likely filter clogged) will end up being a rebuild minimal.
