Default 98 4l60e same as 06 4l60e??

I have an 80 trans am ls1/4l60e swap from a 98 camaro. My transmission went bad and i am looking to replace it with 2006 Chevy express van transmission. The van had 5.7 vortec with a 2w 4l60e.
My question is are both transmission the same? I'm mostly worried about input shaft size and will my harness work with the 2006 4l60e?

Are you sure its out of a 2006 van the 06's were all Gen III by then. So it should be a Gen III trans. The Vans ended use of the L31 Vortec 350 in 2002.

Pretty much any big difference is the converter hub between the two anyway. The Gen III's have a long hub on the converter and easy to ID. A Gen I trans converter will not work with a Gen III motor.

ID what trans it is.
