I'm thinking of installing a 4L80e in a 4th Gen. f-body. I need help deciding who should build the trans for me. I would like to hear from people who have done this and who built there trans. I want to know who has had a good experience and why. I also want to hear from people who had a bad experience but limit the trash talk cause I don't want the moderators taking this thread down.

I participate on other forums too and have always seen exceptional praise for Jake's Transmissions, and never a complaint. Jake is also very generous with his knowledge and has thousands of informational posts on perhaps a dozen forums. He not only builds 4L80s as his specialty, but also designs innovative parts and mods to handle extremely high HP units. It is probably not too much of a stretch to say he knows more about 4L80s than all the other builders and GM engineers combined. With all that, his prices seem very modest.

Yup, Mike is right, since moving into the new place, production speed and efficiency has greatly increased.
I wouldn't feel comfortable putting our stage 2 in a 4 digit car, but that's due more towards the physical limitations of a couple of stock hard parts rather then quality of the build.
We've been majorly catching up on builds which has been nice, here's a Stage III 80e I myself finished today![](http://imgur.com/QfH0Z)
We also finished a TH350, a Stage 5 TH400 (very high end unit), and a 200-4R. Not too shabby IMO when were also the ones answering the phones and helping with tech questions
