Default 4l60e

Put about 2000 miles on a junkyard 4l60e and now it blows the fuse.

Any ideas?

The internal harness has cracked wires and they are sometimes touching metal and blowing the fuse. Or one of the solenoids has a short.

You can buy a new internal harness and all solenoids for about $100. Replacing them all requires only dropping the pan and filter, removing two bolts (for the TCC solenoid), a few clips for the other solenoids and popping out the internal connector. To remove the internal connector you need to push down and wiggle a 1-3/16" socket. (I think that is the size.) Or you could just carefully drill it out with a 1/2" wood drill. The new harness will include a new connector and a TCC solenoid. You probably will want to replace the filter and pan gasket too. Some people suggest replacing the fluid; other say not too; I don't have any experience with that.
