Default TCI plug

I purchased the tci rebuild kit for my 4l6oe and i rebuilt it without problems all gaskets and seals accounted for and extras were known why they were extras EXCEPT a cap/plug. I have put it all together and have this plug left over. Does anyone know where this goes. its about the size of the 3-4 accumulator capsule. should i have placed this there instead of putting in a new capsule?

Many rebuild kits include that plug, but you don't need it. My local trans builder once told me what its for, but I have forgotten; it might be to mod very early versions of the 4L60E.

I'll find out again and update my post.

Showed the part to two pro trans builders; both had always tossed it (for 15+ years) and neither knew why it is included in every rebuild kit. One thought it went in the case; we then both examined a bare case, but didn't see where it would go.

In short, don't worry about it; it is rarely if ever used.
