Default 4l80e Controller Options?

Wanting to swap the TH350 to a 4l80e in my 72 Chevelle...but it seems like the controllers are EXPENSIVE!

Are there any reasonable (read: cheaper) options for controlling the 4l80e?

Ill chime in too- just to bump the thread.

I came from the ford world where the 4R70W was a popular upgrade on the muscle cars-

quite a few vendors made manual valve bodies and lock up and OD would be on a toggle switch.

a lot of time the same switch because no body would want to spend the $$ on a triple plate converter to use lock up under WOT in drive.

Is there no option like this for the 80E

not trying to thread jack

just looking for exact same info

The lowest cost option is using one of our manual control boxes. It makes it full manual with option to lock the converter.

We are also a dealer for the US Shift controller. It's $590 retail but we offer a discount with transmission purchase.

perfect- thanks Jake- I may be looking to upgrade from my TH400 but wanted to control it manually.

I used a TCI- EZ-TCU controller.... not too expensive (from what I remember about $750??)... works good.-- not too many options and very simple to setup.
