What to do to fix cracked pump th400..

What to do to fix cracked pump th400.. I have a used th400 that I was just going to slap a pump seal and tailshaft seal in and run temporarily.. but when I removed the torqueconverter/pump seal part of the pump has a pea sized hole in it. This may sound dumb, but will it hurt anything to run like this? It is before the seal, so I wouldn't see why it would leak.

As looking at the backside of the pump, there isn't a way for fluid to get there anyway..
Then I found this picture online, exactly what It looks like.. maybe it's supposed to be there?
