Default strengthen 4l60e

Well I'm going to drop my 4l60e to swap torque converters , while its out are there any fairly reasonable installation's I can make to beef up my trans ? I already have a bm cooler

First, I would not recommend opening up the internals unless you plan on a complete rebuild.

At a minimum, I would recommend installing a .490/.500 boost valve. The Sonnax 4l60E-LS1 would be a good choice. This is increase minimum and maximum line pressure, give you firmer shifts and generally extend the life of the clutched.

If you are comfortable removing the valve body, I would recommend the Transgo HD2 shift kit; it includes a .500 boost valve. In addition to the shift kit, you may need/want a new separator plate (Transgo Universal is about $25) and Sonnax 10000-8 torlon check ***** (partly in case you lose one).
