Does it work? Budget build. ok so I am going to install my 4l60e in my 88 iroc-z and while I do not have a converter for it I do have a good one out of a 88 700r4. my question is will this work? it is a good torque I have flushed it and it was clean. I have searched and found that you can use a 4l60e in a 700r4 but can it be used in reverse a 700r4 in a 4l60e? it is a 96 model 4l60e by the way.
also I was at the local parts store and I can get a reman fairly cheap but they had two different units, one was for use with the eccc and the other is not I am assuming this is the traction control for the lt cars correct.

ok I think I found a tread that confirms it. the 700r4's from mid 80's switched to 30spline and are the same part number for the lt's 4l60e . any one confirm this?

the converters will retro back to 84 the 4l60 has a better converter clutch than the 700 on a tpi or lt1 car i use a 4.3 s10 converter from 98-03 they give about a 2200 stall speed but next question why are you going threw the trouble putting a 4l60 transmission in u will need a tcm to run it buy the time u do that you could have your 700 r4 built
