Default 93 4l80e Wiring question

Can anyone point me in the direction of the adapter that will work with this style connector for doing a 5.3 to a 4l80e (1st gen).

If there is no such adapter what would I need to update the internal wiring harness.

Thanks in advance!

From the research i have done there was an upgrade due to leakage on that design. I have the same one on my trans. I looked up the internal trans harness to replace the original one and they are roughly 60 bucks on ebay. That is the way i am gonna go. I just searched 4L80E harness.

Sorry to jump in this thread. So are those internal harness interchangeable? I was looking at swapping my 94-96 harness to 04 and newer. Also will I have to swap to the newer solenoids or are they all the same? Thanks

Not too sure if the solenoids are all the same. There may be upgrades in 04 and newer transmissions for a different harness. Its been a long time since i have been in a newer 4L80e.

What is this force motor you are referring to? Is it the Pressure control solenoid?

Yes, two names for the same thing. The PCS on the 4L60E also changed to a different connector (similar to the solenoid connectors) around 2003.
If you have a newer harness and an older force motor, you can just cut off the connector and crimp on female spade lugs.

Everything I have seen points me to the direction that they are just interchangeable harnesses. From what I understand the solenoids don't have to be changed unless you plan on making some good power. In my case it's all stock at the moment.

Building a forged 416/with 2.9 whipple. Looking at 700+Rwhp. Should I upgrade the solenoids?

Yes I would change out the solenoid if I were you.

Just a FYI for people doing the 5.3 to a 4l80e swap, I used a flexplate from Advance Auto that they had in stock. Its the same kit as this

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/atp-z270

Their part number is ATP Z270
It comes with the crank adapter and bolts. So far fitment seems perfect.
