How to remove A4 Harness?
I am taking a 99 T/A Ls1 + A4 and putting it in a 95 z28 that was previously a T56.
After taking the center console, pedals, and shifter assembly out of the A4, how exactly do you take out the A4 harness? It seems that it goes up in the dash.
Also, does anyone have a wiring step-by-step guide of either installing a A4 harness into a M6 car or if you can convert the T56 trans harness to an A4?
Searched the sticky trans swap thread but could not find any T56-A4 guides.

I don't have a Gen 4, but from reading all the trans posts here:
The A4 harness appears to hook onto the tunnel above the trans and then go forward to join the main engine harness running behind the engine. I recall a recent thread where the OP had a very difficult time finding the "hook" above the trans and getting it unhooked in order to give him more slack in the harness.
Are you swapping the PCM harness and PCM together with the engine/trans?

The engine harness is already out of the car connected to the engine.
I wasn't planning to swap the pcm and pcm harness together as the Camaro I am putting it into has the pcm harness still.
If there is an easy way to take out the pcm harness/trans harness and to reinstall it then I will probably want to go that route. Just seems that everything is within the dash which would be a major PITA to do.

To the top bump.
Anyone have any pics or info on how to remove the harness?
I disconnected a connector but it is still connected through the main line of wires going up into the dash.

The trans connector and associated wiring is in with the engine stuff. Separating them would require complete harness dissection. None of it is in the car, EXCEPT some stuff like brake pedal switch which is used to control some minor transmission fucntions like converter unlocking. That crap should be in with the body harness which is completely separate. But, I'm also not exactly sure what it is you are asking.

That makes sense. I was thinking of there being wiring differences on the actual shifter area that you had to change out when going t56- auto, and thought I had to take those wires out separate and swap them.
There were about 3 connectors that had to be unplugged to take that wiring through the firewall with the rest of the engine harness right under the glove box.
I already have the whole engine harness out with the engine and trans, didn't realize that it included the trans part of the harness.
