I'm putting a 502 crate motor in my 72 impala and I would like too know what tranny too go with. Hp should be around the 550-600 range to the wheels. This will be a weekend ride slash show car but I still want too be able to drive a pretty good distance. What will be a good tranny to go with?

 

A would highly recommend a 4L80E; a junk yard trans with a basic rebuild can easily handle that power and later much more if needed.
