What trans do I have?!?!
FACTS.
Case has "4l60e" cast into it
Bellhousing has top center bolt hole/bolt
Is suposedly from a stock 06 silverado
Engine is a 6.0 of some sort, havent popped the heads or looked into the cylinders with a scope yet to see if it has dished pistons or not...
So any help would be apreciated, are there any exact numbers I can check? The engine had a casting number but it just shows that its a 6.0 block used for lq4 or lq9s....
Other than having a dealer look up a VIN, there is no way to tell if the trans is a 4L60E or a 4L65E without opening the trans internals.
However, based on the weight of a Silverado, I suspect it would be a 4L65E. I have an '08 LS2, but don't know how to tell an LQ4 from an LQ9. I'm sure someone else here does.
