I've got a 98 A4 stock. And my shifter is not working properly. For example shifting out of park into R,N,D anything. it does not disengage without excessive force to allow me to shift. After that it works fine. Putting it in park and remove the key. When I put it in park it does not engage the shifter lock I guess is what I would call it to allow the ignition to fully rotate, unless I manually lift the part that the stick is attached to. Its starting to get worse and worse. Any idea what the problem is?
